I checked with the School System here in Elkhart, IN. ECS is NOT mandating that the Obama speech to air on 9-8-2009 be shown in classes. However it is at the discretion of the teacher if they want to show it. I was told that I would have the right to opt my children out if I felt it was what I wanted to do.

I would suggest that parents read the speech that the White House will post in advance of air on 9-7-2009 before making a choice in the matter. Too many conservatives are being labeled as "nut jobs", read the speech and if its political in anyway instead of education, pull your kids from participating if you deem it necessary.

Obama is coming to town, again??

I saw today that President Obama will be coming to the City of Elkhart once again sometime the week of Aug. 3rd.

I have no idea why. I think another visit only fans the flames of disgust many of us feel at this point. His stimulus plan has done nothing for the unemployed here or in the country as a whole for that matter.

Does he think coming here is a good idea? I mean, we are going to have to foot the bill for this visit, again. Does he listen to his own words of fiscal responsibility, let's pay for AF1 to fly in, wasting fuel and adding pollution. Then let's pay for the extra security that goes along with that visit.

I guess he thinks with an unemployment rate of 17.5 percent he will have a captive audience, sad thing is, most of those people who will be there are... UNEMPLOYED OBAMA SUPPORTERS! Just keep your hands open while he is there, maybe he will put something in it for the first time like they thought he would when they elected him. Careful, it might just be another steaming pile of the same B.S. he gave you last time.

As for me, no thanks, I will be working. Yes, I know what some people will say, "Don't you think it would be an honor to be in the same room as the President of the United States of America?" Hell no, I would have gone to see Bill Clinton and his crooked behind before I went to see Obama.

Tax Day Tea Party - Chicago 4/15/09

Thousands join in Chicago, Millions Nationwide for Tax Day Protest.

Alright! What a GREAT day we had at the Chicago Tea Party yesterday! It was good to see so many Americans come together as a nation and stand up to our extremely over-inflated government. The only regret I have personally is not having the ability to clone myself so I could have been at more than one of these events. I hope we see more soon.

Now, on to my assessment of the event. The whole thing as I see it was pretty good, minus a few flaws, the top of which was allowing Mancow to be the main speaker and not moderating his speech topics. Before I go any further with this you should know I used to listen to Mancow when I lived in the Michigan City area, so let me first say I appreciate his views and opinions on politics, but maybe he's better suited to do what he does best and stick with the whole shock jock thing. This event was designated to protest the Governments fiscal irresponsibility, period. There were people at these events from both sides of the political arena, and this was not about right vs. left. This was about Americans vs. Government. Mr. Muller thought it wise however to bring up topics such as gun control, an obviously right wing agenda item. Topics such as this should not have been the focus yesterday. These are items that draw lines in the sand and divide groups that should otherwise be brought together for the common good of all. When we get off topic people lose their focus and start to focus on things on a more personal level, bad idea Mancow. I hope that the next of these events that are held in Chicago do not serve as a batting cage for you to shout out your own agenda. It's okay with me if you DJ the event, but next time, maybe use some responsibility yourself.

Another thing that became clearer to me through this event was the unbalanced media coverage. Of course I've been aware of this for awhile now, and you hear it talked about all the time, but unless you've actually experienced it for yourself a few times you really don't get the full feel for it all. A few months ago Obama was here in Elkhart for his Town Hall meeting. The media frenzy was INSANE! There were news cameras EVERYWHERE, from every network you could possibly name. People had to actually duck and dodge to avoid being caught on camera or being pelted with questions from savvy news anchors. Yesterday was different. FOX News was there, of course, along with most of the local media networks, but it wasn't a frenzy. Not even close to the pandemonium I saw here when the Great One was around. There were a few people being interviewed, but it was brief stuff, and surely edited to suit the agenda of the left. It is apparent that whenever something goes down that doesn't jive with the NWO, it gets as little attention as possible. Good tactics really, I guess you sort of have to hand it to them in that regard. They really have a grasp on the power for sure.

I don't understand all the hatred out there from one American to the next. As people were walking down the street, peacefully may I remind you, some passersby shouted profanities out of car windows at the protesters. Aren't we all Americans? Isn't this supposed to be US standing UNITED for the better future of America? There comes a day when we all need to set our political views on the shelf and focus on the importance of what is truly in front of us, the demise of America as we have grown to know it. I grew up in a time where freedom really meant freedom. I feel that time coming to an end. If we don't stop allowing petty differences to divide us all we will never possess the power to ever bring the real necessary change to America. We will always be powerless and at the mercy of our masters. Slaves to our Government. Forever indebted to the greed of our "public servants". How does that taste on your tongue? The Government thinks we are all stupid mindless sheep, and for the most part, I have to agree. I truly hope that upsets some people, because until people get upset, they will never have the desire to change their thinking. Forget the left, forget the right, learn to think for yourself and the light is easy to see. It's NOT about Conservative, Liberal, Christian, Jew, White, or Black... It's about AMERICA... it's about FREEDOM... it's about LIBERTY! WE THE PEOPLE ARE A NATION OF ONE!

All in all, it was great to see so many people come together for such an important topic. Unfortunately, just one of these events will not serve the purpose. We must plan and hold many more of these, and hopefully with every one more people will rise from their couches and stand on the front line as well. The Government as it is now will never allow us to be heard. They will do all they can to silence our shouting. We met some really good people out there on the cold streets of Chicago. Thanks for the warm reception and thanks for the praise for the site. We hope you will all continue to do your part, in whatever fashion suits you best. America truly is a great place to live and we hope it will always be so.

G-20 pt. 2 (clarification)

In regards to my post from yesterday, I want to clarify some statements I made. First of all, I do give props to Mr. 44 for making an effort to reach out in a global effort. But I also want to make it known that I believe it's a far fetched idea to actually think that there will ever be world peace. Naturally that's probably what any normal thinking person would wish for, but the likelihood of ever seeing it? Not good.

Mr. 44 didn't really do a good job of representing America and showing pride in our country, but rather showed apathy for those we have world dealings with and offering remorse for the past years of American history. I don't really agree with that whole approach either. I think that if you are the President of these United States, well, you are supposed to be THE MAIN representative of our country. And I understand that you may not want to be a representative of what past administrations have done, but you still have to wear pride.

"America" is changing? Okay, that's a nice concept, if you mean we are going to stop worrying about being the savior of the rest of the world and start focusing on fixing America. Of course that's not what Obama means, because his fix for America is taking control of every aspect of the financial system, disposing of nuclear weapons and other arms, and nationalizing the health care system. That's pretty reckless thinking as far as I'm concerned. And I'm not saying that Obama is full of bad ideas, but I think his vision is seriously skewed, and I wonder where he's been living that he sees so many rainbows and butterflies? In the world I live in, it's just not that harmonious. People want to kill us and destroy this country and culture. Going somewhere and shaking hands with someone of this mindset isn't going to change that way of thinking. Seriously? Seriously! Vowing to destroy our weapons and promising to be the first to dismantle our nuclear warheads is basically the same as hanging a welcome sign to hostiles on the torch of the Statue of Liberty. Where is our safety Mr. 44? What is your real agenda?

While the rest of THIS country suffers, while millions remain unemployed and while daily more and more is lost, you sit comfortably at the helm parading your wife around the world in her fancy attire making your "la-la land" speeches.

Going Green...
The G-20 Summit and N. Korea

Well, finally I have found something I am delighted with about Mr. Obama. I told you all before that I would give kudos if I felt they were deserved, so I will. Congratulations to Mr. 44 for making a valiant effort at reaching out to the rest of the world in friendship. Kudos for making it clear to everyone that America still intends to be the global leader and that the goal of our leadership in the world is to become united and get past our shallow differences. I most certainly do not agree with a lot of politics today, but one thing I do feel is of utmost importance is the need for global camaraderie. We seriously must defeat the close minded thinking that has divided us for so long. This world is a beautiful place, full of beautiful people and we can all learn a lot from one another. I personally find foreign places and people (cultures) fascinating.

And YEAH to Obama for calling for an end to production of nuclear weapons. That's a tricky obstacle... easy to say, another to do... let's see...

And what's up with this N. Korea stuff? C'mon Kim Jong, I mean I loved your role in Team America, but you're getting on everyone's nerves now. You need to chill the F**K out, seriously!

That's all I'm going to say in this post. I have worked hard to divide my posts so that I don't come off as one of those writers that says one thing in one paragraph, then goes on to the next to say "yeah, but..." So, I'll save that for the next time.

By the way, where are all my people at??? See you on the 15th in Chicago!

Presidential News Conference 3/24/09

I wanted to offer my opinion on the Presidential News Conference from last night. It took me a while to comb through my thoughts and sum everything up. I had some mixed feelings.

First of all, while I have always felt that SOMETHING needed to be done to save our financial system, I never had any thought in my mind that dumping buckets and buckets of money into the hands of inept managers was the answer to the problem. I never believed that feeding the greed of political pigs through excessively added "pork" was conducive to remedying the financial crisis in America and the World abroad. I have always taken a stand against the government on bailouts in respect to the ridiculous amounts of money that has went into them, only of which a small percentage of went to actually doing anything that was even close to a "fix". I still stand firm on my opinion of that, and I still am very much set against big government spending proposals.

While I am on the subject of this all let me touch more on the AIG bonuses which were discussed a little again last night. Mr. Obama was asked why he waited two days after this became public knowledge to come out and make a statement against AIG for paying these bonuses out, to which he replied "because I like to know what I'm talking about". Okay, fair enough. Shouldn't you too like to know what it is you're signing when it comes across your desk? The bailout that Mr. Giethner gave AIG stipulated that these bonuses were allowed to be paid, and YOU signed that Mr. President. You signed that without even reading it. What service is that to the American people? And had not there been public scrutiny, you would have no doubt let this go unchecked. How can America have faith in your abilities when you display ineptness in your own actions? Regretfully, you are the face of America right now. Don't get the wrong impression here because I'm not set that anyone else would be doing any better. I'm just sick of corruption in politics. You "fine class" of people are supposed to be protecting the freedoms and liberties of us "common folk". Instead you allow your greed to pollute our system and bring it to it's knees. All of your decisions ultimately fall on us, the taxpayers, to clean up. We will give credit when credit is due for any decision that turns out to be a good constructive one. Oh, and by the way, I'm not waiting two days after the conference to post this either.

In regards to government regulation of businesses to ensure solidarity and prevention of future collapse of our financial system, I offer this. I have always felt that there should be some form of checks and balances when it comes to bigger corporations. I have always felt that the scales weren't always balanced quite right. But this is a tricky subject, because I have also always believed that there should be no limitation on what a person earns, for those that actually work to earn what they do. I do not believe that lazy people should get free rides on the backs of the real laborers in this country. Those that work hardest should earn the most, period. Professional athletes for example are way over paid in my opinion, but it's a private enterprise, so it's not for anyone else to regulate. I think we need to be careful in this regard, because too much regulation creates a lack of enthusiasm and drive. I do not for one second think that the government should be able to come in to a corporation, take control and just do whatever they wish to do. What should be done is something along the lines of what OSHA does to monitor safety in work places. A set of standards should be devised that corporations should follow: business ethics and practices. There should be auditors that randomly visit companies, look over the books, ect. and if there are any violations the company should face fines or some other penalty. They shouldn't have to hand the keys over to Big Brother. This would ensure that the footing of these companies is solid and there is no risk of financial collapse. This would have worked fine in the Auto industry, the Banking system, and Insurance and Financial advisement firms. This would have prevented people like Bernard Madoff from bilking billions from innocent investors. This should have been done years ago.

Now today we find our government riding the coat tails of destruction of generations past. Outwardly they try to blame the whole mess on past administrations, an inherent mess, yet the new mess they are piling on top of the old one is going to make things ten times worse in the long run. No one is focusing on the bigger picture. Everyone is hurting and everyone wants a fix right now. So do I, but today for the heck of it, I did what my Grandfather always told me to do when I wanted something that seemed unattainable. I wished in one hand, well you probably know where I'm going with this.

You know, I as an individual wouldn't mind paying a little bit more in taxes to lift us out of this recession. People call for tax cuts, and I agree with that too. Tax cuts should be offered, but not to the working class. Tax cuts should be brought to the business of America so that they will have some incentive to keep work here in the country rather than going somewhere where the tax rate IS lower. Our people need to work, and if there is no work here than how can they? Oh yeah, by spending TRILLIONS of dollars to create jobs like fixing roads and stuff like that. Duh, my bad. I think any real American wants to see the guy next door doing just as good as the next guy. Any real humanitarian would offer their hand to help those that fall get off the ground and back on their feet. This country is all about prosperity. Capitalism is a good thing. Free market is necessary. Thanks for the extra thirteen bucks a week in my paycheck buddy, but seriously, if you had taken 20 or 30 more from me and everyone else for a year or so, you probably wouldn't have had to increase our deficit by trillions more. Then you might have actually been able to cut the deficit in half like you said you would. Good luck with that, and good luck to the guy that has to clean up your mess in four years. I feel somewhat sorry for you, but not really. Your lack of success is your own fault. Be a leader, not a follower. If you want to clean house, maybe you should start with your own Mr. Obama.

AIG Bonuses

Okay, so for the majority of the day the focus has been the outrage from the House and Senate over the bonuses AIG has paid their execs out of the bailout money. Barney Frank wants to hold a hearing, Iowa Senator Charles Grassley wants the AIG execs to "commit suicide", these among other comments made by top officials.

The deal, in case you have been under a rock today, is this; AIG paid bonuses of $1 million or more to 73 employees, including 11 who no longer work for the company. This of course paid out of the $85 BILLION bailout they received from the U.S Government, courtesy of US, the American taxpayers. Apparently contracts written in March 2008 guaranteed employees 100 percent of their 2007 pay for 2008, regardless of their performance.

Now, Obama and other top Lawmakers are blasting AIG for their reckless and greedy spending. Stop there PLEASE! Wait, rewind, back the truck up! Shouldn't WE be blasting the Government for THEIR reckless and greedy spending for even giving this money to these ill performing executives? Further, shouldn't WE be blasting the Government for not regulating our tax money that the Government virtually took from us against our will to bail out these improperly run businesses? Shouldn't we? Isn't this a classic case of shift the blame? Shouldn't the Government have been more responsible when handing out our future to these incompetent dweebs? The Government doesn't care at all about YOU and I. Cry on someone else's shoulder already! How can a corrupt Government possibly be competent enough to save us from this recession and from corrupt business practices? I wouldn't expect or demand the Government to stop passing the buck, it's never going to happen, but I can't wait for the World to wake up and see with clarity the destruction our own Government is causing us. It's so easy to say it's AIG's fault. Too easy, and even more easy to ruffle the feathers of America and take the focus off of the real problem. Enough already! Enough 2 Trillion ago!

Legalization of Marijuana... What say YOU???

Lately there has been a lot of reported discussion over the issue of the legalization of Marijuana. Personally, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I mean I don't think our society is geared for the outright legalization of the stuff. And let me be honest and forthcoming, yes I have partaken in a puff or two... or three, many years ago. I left that stuff alone after my 20's though. It just seemed to make me really tired, really hungry, or a combination of both.

Also, my Mother, who died of breast cancer in 2000, was a frequent smoker, both before and more so after her diagnosis and during her treatment. I saw first hand how it soothed her and took the edge off for her. She was in a lot of pain. I can see it's medicinal benefits in that regard. Sort of like an aspirin, just better I suppose.

Also, I do see how legalizing it would create a massive tax relief to us, the tax payers. I don't have figures right here in front of me, and it's more than likely a different number for any given jurisdiction, but I know a good portion of tax money goes to combating drugs. Also, it would essentially shut down a large portion of illegal drug activity, but maybe that would hurt the economy? Would that mean more unemployed people? I wonder how many people that have lost their jobs have resorted to growing weed in the basement as a supplemental income. Anyways, that's just a silly thought.

I guess my main concern is how it will be right out in the open if legalized and how that will affect children. I guess that's what concerns me about that the most. So, what do you think about it. Legalization of marijuana for recreational use, a good idea or a bad idea?
